PROJECT: CUSTOM RENOVATION & ADDITION

DVP Construction Group was selected to remodel and enlarge a residence in Princeton, New Jersey. This project involved upgrading the existing structure, renovating existing spaces, expanding the home, and adding a custom pool and detached pool house.

Project Highlights:

Performance Upgrade: The existing residence required substantial upgrade and new structural provisions to support the addition of poured gypcrete at each level. In addition to the acoustical performance upgrades this substrate provides, it also allowed the installation of radiant in-floor heating, which utilized geothermal wells for energy efficiency. The site required extensive earthwork for the installation of an underground water retention system.

Architectural Upgrade: The exterior of the home was completely rebuilt utilizing a combination of lap siding and shake. The roof is slate and copper, and all masonry components were cleaned and repointed. All glazing assemblies were replaced with high performance windows and doors.

Interior Features: The remodel included upgraded bathroom facilities, natural stone and wide plank wood flooring, custom millwork ceilings, expanded living areas, a custom kitchen with high-end appliances and cabinetry, as well as a full finished basement with wine cellar and gym.

Enhanced Outdoor Living: Enhancements to the outdoor living spaces included landscaping upgrades, hardscaping installations, installation of a custom pool and the construction of a detached pool house. The project also included the addition of an outdoor entertainment area, a special feature of which is a custom masonry pizza oven and outdoor fireplace.

Technological Integration: Modern technology solutions were integrated into the home, including smart home automation systems, a central audio visual system, and advanced security features.

This project exemplifies a blend of historical preservation and modern innovation by respecting the original architectural character of the home, and enhancing it with contemporary elements.
